Andrea Knapp

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Potsdam (Germany). I earned my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Bologna (Italy) in 2026.

My research focuses on International Organizations (particularly the UN and NATO), multilateral diplomacy and conflict resolution. I mainly use quantitative methods like social network analysis, text-as-data and survey experiments, but I also have experience with expert interviews. Learn more about my research here.

Beyond academia, I worked at the Defence Policy and Planning Unit at NATO Headquarters in 2023 and was a research consultant for the NATO Stability Policing Centre of Excellence in 2024–2025.
